Jer-Zee Drive-In

It's their 70th year and there is a good reason they've been around for so long. They did Christmas in July today with Santa. Kids could get a pic with him. I got a shredded chicken sandwich, Coney dog, and a chocolate covered cherry clipper. The Coney sauce is outstanding I only wish the dog was a bit bigger thicker (it is a skinny dog). Shredded chicken was excellent and the clipper was tasty. They also had for the kids a Santa cone or cup.

The ice cream is pretty good. I had the strawberry short cake sundae for the first time and it was delicious. However I have to knock off two stars because of the bees and trash! EMPTY YOUR OUTSIDE TRASH MORE OFTEN, ACTUALLY GIVE THE GARAGE BINS A GOOD SCRUBBING EVERY NIGHT AT CLOSING (Don't just spray them out, use disinfectant, soap, and a scrub brush!), GET AN EXTERMINATOR, AND GET SOME TABLES THAT HAVE UMBRELLAS! I have been there three times and every single time the outside trash is overflowing, which draws in even more bees and wasps! Completely forget about sitting on the only side with the only shade! That is where most of the bees and wasps are and as we get later in the summer and the beginning of fall those wasps will consume all sides because they're attracted to the overflowing trash on all sides! There isn't a single table umbrella either so if you plan on eating there, like many of us need to, so our kids ice cream doesn't get all over our vehicles be prepared for it to melt even more rapidly and all over all of you because you have to sit directly in the beaming bright sun!

Today's visit was fine until we noticed that some ice cream sundaes (which turned out to be ours) were prepared then sat, waiting through the 4 orders ahead of us. Next, those customers walked away with sandwiches, drinks and a cone. Finally, it was our turn. The owner wiped the flooding melted ice cream sides then handed them to us, apologizing. I would rather wait for them to be prepared as opposed to the sundaes being prepared ahead of time and melting. We won't be taking anyone here for a while due to the embarrassment of bragging about The Jer-Zee and then the huge letdown to the new neighbors we brought.
